Hairatage & Covid 19

 The Government announced on the 23rd June, that our sector can re open on the 4th July. We have made a few changes to our guidelines so they follow  the newly released health & safety guidelines provided from the government.

We can not wait to get our hands on your Lockdown locks & welcome you back. But here is what to expect on your first visit with Covid 19. Guidelines we are following to keep us all safe. This our No 1 priority & our "new normal" .


We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for your support during these very difficult times.

Hairatage can now re open from the 4th July and we can not wait to welcome you back through our doors.

The salon will be open 7 days a week to accommodate for all cancelled appointments during lockdown. Appointments cancelled at the beginning of lockdown & during lockdown will be honoured & those client’s will be accommodated first.


To be able to achieve this we sincerely hope these measures that we are taking, means we are able to give our customers & staff a SAFE environment to work in.


To ensure this we will be deep cleaning & disinfecting the salon each day, each work station & equipment after every client/appointment. We will be operating with strict social distancing measures. To enable to do this safely will be using the 2 floors of the salon & your stylist will have their own designated workstation. A risk assessment has also been carried out to ensure your safety & staff safety during your visit. We have put procedures in place, to deal & work with this virus. (Our new normal)


We will only be allowing pre booked appointments & nobody will be allowed to enter the salon if they do not have a booking. Only the client booked in will be allowed in the salon. We are also not taking appointments in between colours, to allow for social distancing and of course to give you our undivided attention! 

Appointment’s will be staggered with each stylist to allow for social distancing.


If you do have any symptoms of ( Covid 19 ) i.e a fever of 37.5c & a persistent cough or if anyone in your household has suspected symptoms of Covid 19. Please do not come to your appointment, re arrange & follow gov.ukguidelines.


On arrival of your appointment please keep your distance of 2 metres away from other clients & please wait outside to be invited in by your stylist. Unfortunately we will not be able to use our waiting area, due to health & safety guidelines.


On arrival of your appointment, please wait to be greeted & seated by a member of the team. You can also use our unique QR Code to check in on the NHS TEST & TRACE APP.

We ask you to be wearing clean clothes, a mask (you can purchase a disposable mask for a small charge) & to sterilise your hands/wash your hands when entering, we will be supplying hand sanitiser on each section, on the reception desk & outside before you enter in our designated waiting area.

Due to guidelines, if you are booked in for a colour. It is important you wash your hair that day & it is dry. If you suffer with a sensitive scalp, please make your stylist aware when booking your appointment. Please be aware not to wear your pretty re usable masks as the colour may stain.


On your chair, you will be given a clean laundered gown or a plastic disposable gown, we will assist you on putting these items on. On your first appointment we ask if you can read & sign a consent form to help with our track & trace system.


We will also be using disposable towels. If you do wish to wash your hair before your appointment, we can then spray your hair down to style.



Your stylist will be wearing a visor & mask to protect themselves & you. We appreciate this will be very strange but very necessary at this time.


We ask that you remain seated, unless you need to use the facilities.


We are aware that all of the above is very regimented & not our usual service we give you. But we can assure you by carrying out all of these pre cautions, we are protecting you, ourselves from this horrible virus. Everyones safety is our no 1 priority. 


Your stylist will be in touch to get you an appointment booked in. A mini consultation will take place on the phone, so we can work out how much time we need to dedicate to your lockdown locks. 

Please make you stylist aware if you have used a home box dye, as we will need to re skin test you before your appointment. (A skin test can be posted to you, prior to your appointment). Please make us aware of any issues or changes you would like to do in your appointment. 

Due to the longevity of not being able to visit the salon, on your first appointment we may require to use more colour on your lockdown roots. We hope you can appreciate that this will impact more of a cost, so we will be adding an additional cost on top of your normal colour service if necessary. We will be calling this service a colour upgrade & depending on how much colour needed the price will range from £5 - £10.00. This will be the same in regards to our CBD services, due to your stylist needing more time to spend on your cut.
